"If the world were picked over, I do not think there could be found a more vile and worthless set than the people who have squatted along this [Texas] frontier."
                                -Lt. William E. Burnett, 1859

My daughter and I have been on a photographic expedition through old crumbling back alleys and along the rough cobbled streets of our decaying town.  This town was established as a result of the land run of 1891 when this was Indian Territory.

In the picture above the façade fell off an old building downtown exposing a little piece of history.  Can you imagine a time when you'd go to the store to buy a hide, a fur or a pelt?
